The Challenge

Dare

In December 2027, Kenneth Lambert will take on the World’s Toughest Row with a solo, human powered crossing of the Atlantic. This page is the practical overview of what the challenge is, what boat will carry him, and what it takes to keep moving when the ocean does not care.

3,000 miles of open ocean

The Race

The World’s Toughest Row is a 3,000 mile Atlantic crossing from San Sebastián de La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. There is no engine, no sail, and no outside support. It is day after day of rowing, eating, repairing, navigating, and recovering in a tiny space while weather, currents, and fatigue constantly shift the plan.

The Boat

Kenneth will row in a Rannoch R25 Solo, a purpose built ocean rowing boat designed for long distance crossings. It is compact, self contained, and engineered to handle conditions that can shift from calm seas to heavy weather quickly. On the water, the boat is both vehicle and shelter. Everything depends on knowing it, trusting it, and maintaining it.

Living at Sea

Long duration living and rowing in an extremely confined space, where rest, movement, and work all happen within a few square meters.

Constant Exposure

Continuous exposure to salt, heat, humidity, and heavy seas, with no relief from the elements day or night.

Solo Navigation

Navigation, positioning, and communication managed entirely by a single rower, without outside assistance.

Self Reliance

On board problem solving and basic repairs handled alone, often under fatigue and challenging conditions.

About the People Behind the Journey

Solo on the water, supported on land

The Toughest Team

This crossing may be solo on the ocean, but it is grounded in family, friendship, and a lifetime shaped by movement, challenge, and curiosity. Kenneth’s story is one of pushing beyond circumstances, guided by the people who anchor his life and remind him why the horizon matters.

Every mile rowed carries the weight of shared history, quiet support, and relationships built on trust, adventure, and belief.

Anchored at Home

Kenneth’s greatest strength begins off the water. As a devoted husband and father, his family is the compass behind every decision and the steady force beneath every challenge. Yoselin’s unwavering support, curiosity, and love shape the foundation that makes the journey possible.

Bound by Friendship

Some journeys are built over decades. Kenneth’s lifelong friendship with Dale reflects shared adventure, resilience, and a love for the water. That bond, forged through years of exploration and trust, stands quietly behind the oars, steady and dependable.

Myself

Born in the rugged mountains of West Virginia, I grew up with little but learned early how to dream big. The moment I graduated high school, I set out to see the world—and I never stopped moving. I’ve ridden bulls, trained in various martial arts, climbed the third‑tallest peak in North America, made friends from across the globe and paddled a kayak across the entire state of Missouri. I became a pilot, built a successful business, and carved out a life defined by curiosity, courage, and a hunger for the horizon. At my core, I’m a world‑loving adventurer who believes in pushing limits and collecting stories worth telling.
But the miles and mountains aren’t just for me. Everything I do is driven by a deep desire to inspire others—especially those who grew up like I did—to believe that the world is bigger than their circumstances and that they’re capable of more than they imagine. Above all, I remain a devoted husband and father—the roles that give my life its truest meaning. They are my compass, my anchor, and the reason every adventure becomes part of a greater legacy.
My Wife

My Wife

She began as a pen pal—just words on a page, a spark carried across distance—and somehow became the woman who anchors my world. I call her my mermaid, not just because she’s always been drawn to the water, but because she carries that same quiet magic: depth, mystery, and a pull you feel in your soul. She’s the mother of my boys and the rock beneath every storm I’ve weathered. Curious by nature, she chases knowledge, travel, and adventure with a fearless heart. Driven, compassionate, and endlessly supportive, she is both a remarkable partner and a mother whose love shapes the world our sons grow up in. She is my constant, my companion, and the greatest story my life has ever written.

My Best Friend

Dale is the kind of soul who seems carved from saltwater and sunlight. A lifelong friend and steadfast supporter, he’ll be part of the backbone of the ocean row—steady, capable, and always ready for whatever the horizon brings. He chases sunsets with the same enthusiasm he brings to sailing, kayaking, and any spontaneous adventure that calls his name. A true lover of life, Dale moves through the world with curiosity, joy, and an easy courage that makes every journey richer.
